There is no fixed price for Google Ads. You pay for each click a price set by a real-time auction, which in most Saudi sectors ranges roughly from one riyal to SAR 15 per click. It can exceed SAR 30 for highly competitive keywords in areas such as law, real estate and cosmetic clinics. A sensible monthly budget for a small business usually starts at SAR 3,000 to 6,000 before VAT. But these figures alone do not answer your real question. What you need to know is the Google Ads cost in Saudi Arabia for your own sector, and how many customers you will get for it. Here you will find cost-per-click ranges for ten Saudi sectors, a formula to calculate your budget from the number of customers you want, and then the full cost that quotes usually leave out: management fees, the landing page, 15% VAT and Google's advertiser verification requirements.

Every time someone in Riyadh searches for "dental clinic near me" or "water tank cleaning company", Google runs an auction in a fraction of a second among all advertisers who chose that keyword. The winner of the top position is not necessarily the highest bidder. Google ranks ads by what it calls Ad Rank, which results from several factors combined:
The practical result matters: you usually do not pay your maximum bid; you pay just enough to beat the advertiser ranked below you. So a competitor may pay SAR 4 for the same keyword you pay 7 for, because their ad and page are rated higher. This means a large part of the cost per click on Google in Saudi Arabia is within your control and is not set by the market alone.
Search campaigns, the text ads at the top of Google results, are usually paid per click (CPC) and suit those looking for customers with clear buying intent. Display Network and YouTube campaigns are usually paid per thousand impressions or per view; their cost per click is much lower, but audience intent is weaker. Performance Max campaigns automatically distribute your budget across all Google channels. This article focuses on Search campaigns, because they are the first thing business owners ask about and the clearest for calculating return.
The following table shows estimated cost-per-click ranges for Search campaigns in Saudi Arabia, in SAR and excluding VAT. We compiled them from pricing guides published by Saudi and Gulf agencies in 2025–2026 and from market experience. They are not official Google prices; Google does not publish prices because they change in real time. You will find the real figure for your keywords in the Keyword Planner inside your account, or after two weeks of actual running.
| Sector | Estimated cost per click (SAR) | Competition level | Saudi note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local home services (cleaning, AC maintenance, furniture moving) | 1 – 5 | Moderate | Rises in summer and before Ramadan, and varies sharply between neighborhoods |
| Online stores (fashion, perfume, electronics) | 1.5 – 6 | Moderate | Rises noticeably during the White Friday season and the end of Ramadan |
| Restaurants and delivery | 1 – 5 | Moderate | Local search and Maps matter more than generic keywords |
| Education and training (courses, institutes, private schools) | 2 – 8 | Medium to high | Peaks before the school year and after exam results |
| Contracting and finishing works | 3 – 10 | High | The value of a single customer is high, so a higher cost per click is justified |
| Clinics and general medicine | 3 – 9 | High | Healthcare ads are subject to Google's specific policies |
| Cosmetic, dental and dermatology clinics | 5 – 15+ | Very high | One of the most expensive sectors in Riyadh and Jeddah |
| Real estate (sales, rentals, project marketing) | 4 – 15+ | Very high | Keywords for residential projects in Riyadh are among the most expensive |
| Law, legal and financial consulting | 6 – 20+ | Very high | Keywords such as "commercial lawyer" can exceed SAR 30 |
| B2B tech services (software development, ERP systems, hosting) | 4 – 15 | High | Few searchers, but high contract value |
Read this table with caution: cost per click alone does not make a sector "expensive". A SAR 12 click in villa contracting can bring in a contract worth hundreds of thousands, while a two-riyal click for a perfume store may bring nothing if the product page is slow. The metric that matters to you is cost per lead and cost per sale, which we will calculate shortly.
When someone tells you "cost per click in Saudi Arabia is such-and-such", ask them: for which keyword? In which city? In which month? These factors make the difference between two campaigns in the same sector:
The keyword "car shade installation price Riyadh" costs more than "car shades" because it is closer to a purchase, and Google knows advertisers are willing to pay more for it. Generic keywords are cheap but bring visitors who browse and do not buy. Many campaigns lose money because they chase the cheap click instead of the useful one.
Targeting in Riyadh and Jeddah usually costs more than targeting smaller cities, because competition there is higher. Wrong targeting is one of the most common causes of wasted budget: setting location targeting to "people interested in Saudi Arabia" instead of "people in Saudi Arabia" can show your ad to searchers outside the Kingdom who will never buy from you.
An ad that matches the keyword and leads to a fast page that directly answers the user's search gets a higher rating, so it appears in a better position at a lower price. That is why we always say that designing an effective landing page is not an extra cost. It is the cheapest way to lower your cost per click.
When a large competitor with a big budget enters your keywords, prices rise for everyone. That is why cost per click changes from month to month, even if you changed nothing in your campaign.
The Saudi market has clear seasons that raise competition, so plan your budget around them:
Google has no minimum spend, and technically you can start with SAR 50 a day. But a very small budget has two problems. First, your ad will stop showing midday once the budget runs out. Second, the campaign will not collect enough data to tell you what works. Based on the market, a sensible test for a local business starts at SAR 100 to 200 per day, or about SAR 3,000 to 6,000 per month before VAT. Highly competitive sectors or targeting several cities usually need SAR 10,000 per month or more.
What you set in Google is an "average daily budget", not a strict cap for each day. Google's policy on average daily budgets states that spend on a single day can reach up to twice the daily budget when search activity is high, provided the monthly total does not exceed the daily budget multiplied by roughly 30.4. If you set SAR 150 a day, your monthly cap is about SAR 4,560 before VAT, even if you see a day on which SAR 280 was spent.
The most common mistake we see is a business owner deciding, "I will spend SAR 2,000 and see what happens." The better way is to start from your business goal and work backwards with this formula:
Monthly budget = (target number of customers ÷ sales closing rate) ÷ page conversion rate × cost per click
Its components mean:
| Item | Assumption | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | 20 new patients per month | 20 |
| Booking closing rate | 40% of inquiries turn into actual bookings | 20 ÷ 0.40 = 50 inquiries |
| Page conversion rate | 8% of visitors get in touch | 50 ÷ 0.08 = 625 clicks |
| Estimated cost per click | SAR 7 | 625 × 7 = SAR 4,375 |
| 15% VAT | Added to or charged on the ad spend | ≈ SAR 656 |
| Monthly ad budget | — | ≈ SAR 5,031 |
| Cost per patient | 5,031 ÷ 20 | ≈ SAR 252 |
Now the question is easy: is a new patient worth SAR 252? If their average spend over their relationship with the clinic is SAR 1,500, the answer is clearly yes. And note the most important thing this example reveals: if you raise the page conversion rate from 8% to 12%, the required budget drops by a third without any change in cost per click. The landing page is the most powerful lever in the formula, and we explain this in detail in our guide to conversion rate optimization (CRO). A quote that says "your budget is SAR 5,000" tells you only half the truth. The actual monthly cost of Google Ads for businesses has four layers, and it is important to separate them in any contract:
Prevailing market ranges are approximate as of 2026 and vary with account size and number of campaigns:
| Item | Small local business | Mid-sized business or growing store | Competitive sector or multiple cities |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ad budget (before VAT) | 3,000 – 6,000 | 6,000 – 15,000 | 15,000 – 40,000+ |
| 15% VAT on ad spend | 450 – 900 | 900 – 2,250 | 2,250 – 6,000+ |
| Monthly management fees (before VAT) | 1,000 – 3,000 | 2,500 – 6,000 | 5,000 – 12,000 |
| Landing page and tracking (one-time) | 1,500 – 4,000 | 3,000 – 8,000 | 6,000 – 15,000 |
| Approximate monthly total (excluding setup) | ≈ 4,450 – 9,900 | ≈ 9,400 – 23,250 | ≈ 22,250 – 58,000+ |
The total in the last row includes VAT on ad spend only; 15% VAT is added to management fees if the provider is VAT-registered. These are approximate ranges as of 2026 and vary by sector, city and scope of work. We focused on Search campaigns because they are the clearest to calculate, but they are not the only option within Google. Here is a short rule for each type:
As for comparing with Snapchat and TikTok, the practical rule is this: Google captures existing demand, meaning someone searching for your service right now, while Snapchat and TikTok create demand among an audience that has not searched yet. Start with Google if people search for your service by name, and with social platforms if your product is discovered visually, such as fashion, perfume and new restaurants. Many Saudi businesses succeed by combining the two after one of them has proven its return first.
This is an aspect most articles ignore, even though it can stop your campaign completely days after launch.
Google requires advertisers to verify their identity, and a verification request can arrive at any time, even after campaigns have launched. If you do not complete it within the given deadline, your ads may stop. According to the Saudi Arabia document requirements page in the Advertiser verification Help Center, an "organization" account is asked for two types of documents:
And the condition many people fail: the document details must exactly match the details of the "payments profile" in the account, including the business name. If the account was opened under a personal name while the registration is in the business's name, or your commercial registration or trade name changed and you did not update the payments profile, expect verification to be rejected or the account to be suspended. So update your details through the Ministry of Commerce first, then update the payments profile in Google before uploading the documents. And do not rush the choice of account type (organization or individual), because changing it later is not easy.
Digital services provided to customers in the Kingdom are subject to 15% VAT. In practice, the tax may appear directly on Google's invoice, or be charged to you through the "reverse charge" mechanism if your business is VAT-registered and has entered its VAT number. Either way, plan your budget on the basis of the amount + 15%, and enter your VAT number and correct address in the billing settings. Check with your accountant how to record and reclaim it in your return, in line with the guidance of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).
Above all, the ad account, payments profile, pixel and analytics account must be in your company's name, with the agency given access only. With an account owned by the agency, you lose all the accumulated data when the relationship ends. This is one of the most important criteria for choosing a digital marketing agency in Saudi Arabia.
And if you hear a promise like "we guarantee you the top position" or "a guaranteed number of customers", treat it as a warning sign. Nobody controls the Google auction.
At Bateel, we always start from these same questions before any campaign: the account in the client's name, tracking before spending, and a dedicated landing page for each service. You can see the scope of our work on the page for our digital marketing services. If your current pages are not fit to receive ad traffic, the solution starts with a fast, clear website design, or with a conversion-ready online store if you sell online.
Usually from SAR 3,000 to 6,000 per month for a small local business, and from SAR 6,000 to 15,000 for a mid-sized business, before 15% VAT and management fees. The right number for you depends on the cost per click in your sector, the number of customers you want and your page's conversion rate.
Roughly from one riyal to SAR 5 for local services and stores, and from SAR 5 to 15 or more for clinics, real estate and law firms. These are estimated market ranges, not official prices, because the price is set in a real-time auction based on competition, ad quality, city and season.
No, Google has no minimum spend, and you can start with any daily amount. But a very small budget makes your ad stop early in the day and does not collect enough data for optimization. That is why a start of SAR 100 to 200 per day is usually recommended for a local search campaign.
Yes, digital services in the Kingdom are subject to 15% VAT. It may appear directly on Google's invoice, or be charged through the reverse charge mechanism if your business is VAT-registered and has entered its VAT number. Either way, add 15% to your budget, and consult your accountant on recording it in your VAT return.
Businesses are asked for a registration document, such as a commercial registration extract, a commercial license or a VAT registration certificate, plus a valid photo ID of the authorized representative. The document details must exactly match the payments profile details in the account, otherwise verification may be rejected and ads may stop.
Google Ads cost in Saudi Arabia is not measured by cost per click alone. It is measured by what you pay for each real customer. Start from your monthly goal, calculate the budget with the formula, add VAT and management fees, and make sure the account is in your name and your verification documents match before launch. That is how ads turn from a vague expense into a sales channel whose numbers you know.
